Luc Messinezis AKA Sonologik was born in Athens, Greece in 1977. He studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Patras, Greece. Although he was coming from a scientific background, he engaged with sound and music in parallel with his academic studies by being a member in several music groups, trainee in a professional studio and composing music of various genres.
He studied classical harmony and composition under the guidance of Guitar Soloist Michalis Brouzos (Animacorda). Due to his interest in sound and experimental compositional strategies, he pursued further engagement by investigating sound as a creative medium. After relocating in the UK, Luc achieved an MA in Sound Arts at the University of the Arts, London and has developed several projects researching the means throughout which sound can constitute the base for artistic explorations.

Phonography, electroaccoustic/concrete composition, audiovisual works and sound installations are just a few of the ways of experimenting with sound and its artistic potential for expression. With his recent work, Luc aims in discovering ways that sound objects can be used for a composition in space rather than in time, by eliminating the temporal characteristics of the used sonic materials. Luc’s conceptual interests mainly focus in the way sound can be used as a tool for creative practice and trigger feelings, challenge the perception and stimulate the imagination of the audience.
